Nikki Y. Burnett

Ms. Burnett joined SM Energy as the Permian Asset Manager in January 2025. Most recently Ms. Burnett served as Director of Texas Asset Management covering Permian and South Texas Assets.

Ms. Burnett brings more than 28 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Prior to joining SM Energy, Ms. Burnett served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Field Development at Pioneer Natural Resources. During her nearly 17-year tenure at Pioneer, Ms. Burnett held multiple engineering and leadership roles of increasing responsibility, overseeing development programs across South Texas, Barnett Shale, and Permian Basin. Prior to joining Pioneer, Ms. Burnett held various reservoir engineering positions at ExxonMobil and bp, working conventional assets across the Lower 48.
